The Strange Corner was started in January 1993. After different changes of line-up, in 1995 the band decided to produce their 1st demo tape. They sold out all the 500 copies very quickly. In the same year the single " Animal rage " came out from the punk/hardcore compilation " We bastard motherfuckers vol.1 " produced by the Italian label Blu Bus Records. In the following years some other tracks were recorded for other benefit compilations. After a stable period in 1998 the five-member group was now four, reappeared to record " Schism " at the Acqualuce Studio in Turin.
The Cd came out produced by Vacation House Records (Indigesti singer's label).
It earned a pretty good success thanks to positive reviews from the Italian magazines and fanzines and others. Strange Corner had a number of shows in Italy, 3 European tours (about 40 dates) and one tour in the U.S.A. in summer 2001 (14 dates) playing also with some of the biggest hardcore bands in the present scene.
After a little a 7" split came out with a German band (The 4 Sivits) in which there were 2 hits for band. Besides these only in the U.s.a. came out a new Mcd " The Flight " produced by Beach Records from San Francisco. The same Mcd but with a different title (" Price to Pay ") and a different cover is now available in Italy too always from Vacation House Records & Cripta Records .
This is the line up:
Alessandro Farinati: voice
Emanuele Zilio: guitar
Andrea Bruttomesso: bass
Claudio Cappello: drums
Strange Corner plays a sort of New York's hardcore (Sick of it all, Killing Time, Madball) mixed with new school and metal influences (Turmoil, Hatebreed, All Out of War) and a bit of Italian hardcore style. The lyrics are written some in English and some in Italian and speak about social problems, personal experiences, etc. at the moment the band has 12 new tracks. A promotional Cd with 3 of these songs is ready to be shipped to labels interested to produce the new Strange Corner's cd.
